About LaRae Seemann
LaRae L. Seemann, MD is a Board Certified Family Medicine Doctor with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine who specializes in sports medicine and nonsurgical orthopaedics. She is a Valdosta native and graduated cum laude from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Honors College Diploma. She earned her medical degree from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. After medical school, she completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where she served as Chief Resident and became an Assistant Professor. Following residency, Dr. Seemann completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Seemann is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She is committed to medical research and education and has published extensively in scientific journals and textbooks.
Dr. Seemann has served as head team physician for multiple high schools and Santa Fe College. She has worked extensively with Division 1 college athletes at University of Florida and provided medical care for Olympic athletes as a part of the US Olympic and Paralympic Medical Network at UF Health. She has covered numerous sports events at the youth, high school, college, professional, and masters level. Dr. Seemann has volunteered with the Kenny Moore II Youth Football Camp and YMCA Gymnastics in Valdosta. She looks forward to working with coaches and Hughston physicians on the sidelines for local high schools and Valdosta State University, as well as serving active individuals in the community.
