About John Floyd
Dr. Floyd is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic traumatology and fracture care. He earned his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. After participating in a general surgery internship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Chattanooga and general surgery residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, he completed an orthopaedic residency at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York, as well as a fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Floyd is an orthopaedic traumatologist for the Hughston Clinic. Prior to coming to the Hughston Clinic, Dr. Floyd served as an orthopaedic traumatologist in Macon, Georgia.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Floyd is associated with various medical organizations and holds memberships in national and international speciality societies. He has published in major orthopaedic and trauma medical journals and presents his scientific research at national meetings and symposiums. He plans to continue his research interests through the Hughston Foundation, Inc.
