About Edgar Dollar

After graduating from Callaway High School in his hometown of Lagrange, GA, Dr. Dollar received his undergraduate degree in biology from Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. He went on to graduate school and subsequently medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, GA. He completed his internship at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg, VA, and then he served as Captain in the United States Air Force where he practiced family medicine as a general medical officer for four years. Following his military service, he resumed his medical training at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he completed his residency in Family Medicine. Dr. Dollar recently completed his one-year sports medicine fellowship at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine located on Auburn University’s campus in Alabama.

Dr. Dollar is board certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is board eligible for a certificate of additional qualifications in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Dollar has a passion for sports medicine. He has provided team coverage for Westminster High School’s football team in Augusta, GA; Central High School’s football team in Phenix City, AL; as well as provided sports team coverage at Auburn University during his fellowship, which included football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, gymnastics, equestrian, tennis, golf, track and field, soccer, swimming, and diving. Dr. Dollar specializes in all aspects of musculoskeletal injuries, concussions, sports related injuries, fracture care, Orthobiologics, and osteopathic manipulative treatment.

When not working, Dr. Dollar enjoys spending time with his wife Pamela and their three children Ella, Brooks, and Allie. He also enjoys golfing, woodworking, antique car restoration, fishing, and boating.
